The Environmental Protection Act states that you have a Duty of Care to ensure:

That only a Registered Waste Carrier collects your Used Cooking Oil
That the carrier takes it only to a site approved by the Environment Agency

Registered waste carriers should hold the appropriate licences, and it is your responsibility to ensure that they do.

Letting your Used Oil go to the first company to call could see you inadvertently breaking the law. Non-compliance with the Environmental Protection Act is an offence punishable by large fines.
