Agri reaches new heights

13 January 2012

The team managed to raise an impressive £22,764.22 through sponsorship and Agri contributed an additional £20,000.00 to bring the total to £42,764.22.

The money was raised in aid of the Schiehallion Ward in Yorkhill Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Glasgow. Yorkhill is one of the Scotland’s leading specialist children’s cancer and leukaemia treatment centres and the Schiehallion Ward holds a special place in Agri’s heart as Vincent Igoe, the manager of our Scottish depot came into contact with the ward when his 3 year old son was diagnosed with Burkitts Lymphona. The family spent many hours there and were incredible touched by the hard work and dedication the staff showed towards the children and their families.

Vincent himself presented the cheque to the extremely grateful staff, he said:

“This is the biggest single donation they received in 2011. We have contributed to saving lives and that alone is something we should all be proud of! Handing over the money to the hospital stands as one of the proudest days of my life.”

Agri and Vincent would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part and to those who sponsored the event.
